The OH-FINE project has officially launched the «Organic Farming Compass», an intelligent platform designed to offer innovative support solutions for organic agriculture through the use of artificial intelligence and advanced decision-making tools.
Organic production was the focus of this afternoon’s professional event, entitled ‘Key Elements for the Profitability of Farms’. Participants included Juan Luis Fradejas, professor at the INEA School of Agricultural Engineering of the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas; Karen Hoberg, an economist specialising in Sustainable Agrifood Systems; and the Euradia group, which spoke about the virtual platform Oh-Fine Organic Farming Compass. This technological tool provides support and guidance to conventional farmers and livestock producers who are considering switching to organic production, as well as to those already established in organic farming and livestock production. The virtual platform has two fundamental innovative features. One is a conversational tool that answers general questions about organic production. The second innovative tool is a DSS (Decision Support System),
Buying organic products at a fair price in rural Spain has become a real challenge. This is mainly due to the long distances and high transport costs. Though it may seem contradictory, the very villages and rural areas where most of this sustainable food is grown and produced are the places where people have the greatest difficulty buying it and eating it in their daily lives.
