In 2026, Bulgarian agriculture will have access to over 1.68 billion euro available for support under the Common Agricultural Policy - specifically direct payments, investment measures under the strategic plan, rural development interventions, and other European schemes. Separately, 300.9 million euro is the expenditure budget of State Fund Agriculture, which includes state budget aid, fund maintenance, administration, and transfers under national programs. Thus, State Fund Agriculture is effectively managing the largest resource since the start of the new European programming period this year. This measure marks a strategic shift for the sector, replacing the previous eco-schemes with a specific budget of €85 million allocated directly to organic livestock farmers. The main objective of this budgetary reform is to modernize sustainable livestock farming and offset the increase in organic production costs.
Market partnerships secured stronger offtake visibility for producers.
